In august we had a heatwave in the Netherlands. Not my kind of weather to be really active outdoors so I took advantage of it by starting a series of paintings for an autumn notecard collection. Drawing and painting next to the fan :). The result is a notecard collection that is now in my Etsy shop that I'm really happy with.
Another thing I've been working on was my collection of patterns on Motiflow. On Motiflow you can find patterns by many designers and they can be printed on fabric, wallpaper and giftwrap, all in an eco-friendly way.  There are several patterns that I made, including some cute autumn patterns to match my notecards :).

Met trots presenteer ik dit mooie boek aan jullie over de wilde bijen! Er staan prachtige illustraties in van 40 illustratoren die samen hebben gewerkt aan het tot stand komen van dit boek. Ik mocht een illustratie maken over het wilde bijenparadijs en hoe je je tuin bij-vriendelijk kan maken. (Wilde) bijen zijn ontzettend belangrijk voor de natuur en het ecosysteem en alle leven op aarde. In dit boek kun je er alles over lezen, leren en bekijken. Een deel van de opbrengst komt ten goede aan de bijenstichting. Het is een boek voor kinderen van ongeveer 8-12 jaar en is daarnaast ook heel leuk een leerzaam voor volwassenen!

I proudly present this beautiful book to you about the wild bees! It contains beautiful illustrations by 40 illustrators who have worked together to create this book. I was so happy to make an illustration about the wild bee paradise and how you can make your garden bee-friendly. (Wild) bees are extremely important for nature and the ecosystem and all life on earth. In this book you can read, learn and view everything about it. Part of the profits will go to the bee foundation. It is a book for children of about 8-12 years old and is also very fun and educational for adults!

The rat is probably not as bad as we often times perceive him to be.
Illustrations of the brown rat for an article on Vers Beton for the series 'Andere Rotterdammers' (the other habitants of Rotterdam). I drew these rats as sweet little guys, I can't help it. While looking at reference photo's for these illustrations I looked into their shimmering brown eyes and I knew they are not too bad at all :).
